Chatra Divas (Students' Day) 2025 was celebrated at Tezpur College

Chatra Divas (Students' Day) 2025 was celebrated at Tezpur College with great enthusiasm at the C. M. Medhi Conference Hall of Tezpur College on 4th April to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bodofa Upendranath Brahma. The event paid tribute to Bodofa Upendranath Brahma, known as the Father of Bodo society, and highlighted his significant contributions. The program commenced with the playing of the college anthem, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and felicitation. Mr. Robin Narzary, retired teacher of Hem Barua Higher Secondary School and a renowned writer in the Bodo language was the Chief guest and speaker of the day. The event was chaired by Dr. Manoj Kumar Hazarika, Principal, and attended by Rita Saikia, Vice Principal of Tezpur College, Dr. Rajlakshmi Sonowal, IQAC Coordinator and the faculties and students of the college. Dr. Manoj Kumar Hazarika spoke about the contributions of Bodofa Upendranath Brahma towards creating Bodo identify. Dr. Lakshmiram Narzary, Assistant Professor of the Bodo Department, introduced the speaker of the day. Mr Robin Narzary focussed on the life, work, philosophy, and immense contributions of Bodofa Upendranath Brahma in uniting and empowering the Bodo community. The speaker also highlighted on the significance of Bodofa’s contributions towards the students community. Traditional Bodo dances were performed by the students of the college. Dr. Himangshu Hazarika and Dr. Dharmendra Barua also spoke about the role of Bodofa Upendranath Brahma. On this occasion an essay competition was also held among the students on the theme “ Bodofa Upendranath Brahma and His Ideology”, the results of which were announced during the program. In the essay competition, Ankita Kalita, dept. of Physics, secured the first position, followed by Dhunuki Rabha, dept. of Physics, in second place, and Ripunjay Sharma in third plae. The program was concluded with a vote of thanks.
