Tezpur College organized a series of programs to celebrate World Environment Day.

On June 5, 2025, Tezpur College organized a series of programs to celebrate World Environment Day. The theme for this year's World Environment Day was "Beat Plastic Pollution."

Keeping this objective in mind, starting at 7 AM, under the initiative of Geography Department professor Karan Thappar, cadets from NCC and NSS braved adverse weather conditions to conduct a plastic-free campus drive within the college premises.

Later, at 10 AM, in collaboration with the Sonitpur District Cultural Unity Forum, a ceremonial plantation was held at the Rudrapada Temple premises in Tezpur. Several saplings, including Dimaru, red sandalwood, neem, and amla, were planted as part of the environmental effort.

The event was attended by Tezpur College Principal Dr. Manoj Kumar Hazarika, esteemed faculty members, students, and Sonitpur District Cultural Unity Forum President Dipen Shaikia, alongside other dignitaries. As a token of appreciation, the forum honored the Principal and faculty members with a traditional Fulam Gamusa. Additionally, a red sandalwood sapling was presented to the principal to be planted within the college premises.

In the afternoon, to mark World Environment Day, the college hosted a quiz competition and an essay writing contest. The quiz master for the event was Assistant Professor of Department of Mathematics,  Dr. Himangshu Hazarika, while the various student talent clubs of the college were coordinated by  Dr. Bandana Sharma, Assistant Professor of  Department of English.
