Report on the One-Week Workshop cum Training Program for Non-Teaching Staff
Organized by Training and Personality Development Cell (TPDC), IQAC, Tezpur College
Date: 5th – 9th May, 2025
A one-week workshop cum training program for the non-teaching staff of Tezpur College was successfully organized by the Training and Personality Development Cell (TPDC) in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Tezpur College, from 5th to 9th May 2025. The program aimed at enhancing the professional skills and personal development of office employees through interactive sessions on key topics relevant to administrative and personal growth.
The workshop featured five distinguished resource persons addressing five distinct themes across the five days:
Day 1 (5th May): "Digital Literacy"
The session was conducted by Ms. Subhaisa Sar, Senior Associate, ICT Academy. The talk focused on improving digital skills and understanding of current digital tools, a fundamental requirement in today's technology-driven workplace.
Day 2 (6th May): "Office Communication"
Delivered by Dr. Renusmita U. Talukdar, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Darrang College. The session emphasized effective communication in an office setting, addressing both verbal and written forms to foster clarity and professionalism.
Day 3 (7th May): "Office Automation"
Led by Mr. Prankrishna Tamooli, Scientist-B & Centre In-Charge, NIELIT, Tezpur. The resource person introduced participants to AI-powered tools that can significantly enhance productivity in office tasks, showcasing practical applications of technology in administrative functions.
Day 4 (8th May): "Financial Literacy"
Mr. Shekhar Agarwal, Chartered Accountant, delivered an insightful session on personal finance management. He covered topics such as savings, investments, mutual funds, and the importance of financial planning for a secure future.
Day 5 (9th May): "Roles and Responsibilities"
The final session was presented by Mr. Nripen Borah, Retired Superintendent of District Jail, Biswanath Chariali. His talk captivated the audience with reflections on discipline, punctuality, and responsible behavior, drawing inspiring examples from countries like Japan and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. His speech left a deep and lasting impression on all attendees.
The program was inaugurated and concluded by Dr. Manoj Kumar Hazarika, Principal, Tezpur College, who emphasized the relevance and impact of such initiatives for the holistic development of non-teaching staff. He highlighted the active participation of non-teaching staffs from neighbouring Rangapara and L.G.B. Girls colleges and Govt Girls HS & M.P. school. He also congratulated the entire team of TPDC, IQAC for the seamless and successful execution of the event.
The entire program was gracefully hosted by Ms. Surajita Borah, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, while the Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. Satyajit Dey Baruah, Coordinator, TPDC, IQAC. Special acknowledgments are extended to Ms. Bhaswatee Boruah, Assistant Professor, Department of Education and member of TPDC, for her unwavering support throughout the program. Sincere gratitude is also due to Ms. Rajlakshmi Sonowal, IQAC Coordinator, for her guidance and encouragement, along with continued support from the Principal, Tezpur College.
The week-long training proved to be an enriching experience, equipping the non-teaching staff with essential skills, motivation, and awareness necessary for both professional and personal development.
